adidas Reveal Yohji Yamamoto adizero f50
adidas have teamed up with award-winning Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto, the man behind the adidas Y-3 fashion brand, to launch the limited edition Yohji Yamamoto adizero f50 boot.
The collaboration between adidas and the well-known designer marks the latest in a line of special edition football boots, following on from the successful release of the White Copa Mundial & "Enlightened" reflective football boots in recent weeks.
Only 2,000 pairs of the visually striking f50s will be available globally and the boots are sure to excite fans when they go on sale from this coming Monday (28th October).
The front of the boot displays a pair of imperial lion-dogs who, in ancient times, guarded the emperors of Japan who used to live on sacred ground. This traditional design has been placed in the context of Japan's modern sci-fi culture creating a spiritual connection between the past and the future. The result is an unexpecteddesign that draws inspiration from the fashion world in order to make a bold statement on the football field.
Yohji Yamamoto explained: "My inspiration is a mixture of ancient traditions and modern sci-fi from Japanese culture… I hope the inspiration of the boot harmonises the players and gives them extra confidence to express themselves without any fear. People should feel free to express themselves. Just follow your own instinct."
The Yamamoto f50 uses the same technology as the current adizero f50 range and enables players to be faster than ever before. Precision engineering has played an integral role in every aspect of the boot design andat only 165gis one of the lightest shoes on the market.

adidas Enlighten the Field of Play
adidas will light up the UEFA Champions League with its reflective exposure innovation for boots that captures and bounces off the light of floodlights and cameras to stun defenders and opposition. This is the first time reflective exposure has been used on one of the world's biggest football stages and adidas continue to lead from the front when taking football boot technology to the next level.
'The Enlightened Pack' takes the customisation capabilities on the miadidas web site to new heights, with fans now able to opt for a 'reflective exposure'materialon their boots and lacesto bring the iconic three stripes to life on the pitch. The customisations will be available across all four adidas football footwear silos: adizero f50; predator; nitrocharge and 11pro.
Europe's top players will debut the reflective technology in a one off appearance during the forthcoming UEFA Champions League matches on the 22nd / 23rd October 2013. Adidas first used reflective technology in their sports footwear in 2012 when launching the adidas adizero Smoke "Spotlight" colourway in American Football.
Football fans will now be able to apply the 'reflective exposure' to their customised miadidas boots online whilst selected retailers will also be selling boots with the treatment on high streets around the world.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s explosive speed celebrated through Nike’s New CR7 Boot and Collection
Nike’s latest version of the Mercurial boot celebrates the super-charged speed and on-pitch dominance of one of the world’s greatest players, Cristiano Ronaldo. Featuring a ‘supernova’ print, the Nike Mercurial IX CR7 Boot and 2013 CR7 Collection take inspiration from the Portuguese star's unique style of play.
"We were watching a game, and after Cristiano scored yet another amazing free-kick the commentator posed the question 'Is Ronaldo from this planet?!'” remembers Denis Dekovic, Nike Footwear Design Director. “When we got back to the design studio we got to thinking about CR7’s style and how similar it was to the definition of a supernova - a celestial body that radiates energy - and that was it, we had our inspiration."
"The concept of a star that burns brighter than others reflects Cristiano's style, speed and the idea that as a player he plays without limits, much like the outer reaches of the galaxy. What Cristiano is able to achieve on the field is something that we felt was limitless. So we took that direction and focused on creating a highly luxurious finish fused with modern print and color choices," added Dekovic.
The Mercurial IX boot features an all-over digital print of the Star Vela Supernova and includes a seven star path print, paying homage to Cristiano's shirt number. The supernova print is juxtaposed with a chrome swoosh flecked with silver fleck and a Blue Glow outline.

adidas and the Mexican Football Federation announce the new "Tricolor" jersey
Today, adidas and the Mexican Football Federation announce the official on-pitch presentation of the National Team's uniform, during its FIFA World Cup Qualifier match against Panama at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, Mexico.
Mexico's National Football team is the first of all adidas sponsored teams to present its new uniform. The match kit will convey the entire country's hopes and optimism as the team battle to qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™.
The new jersey features a bi tonal green base, to form a unique and premium design, while the elegant white touches on the chest, sleeves and the iconic three stripes add to the overall look of the jersey.
FMF's crest is located in the middle of the chest, accompanied by a graphic element expressing the strength, passion and pride of an entire nation. The word MÉXICO on the back of the jersey, balance out the design with a subtle bow to the country's rich past
The new kit is the lightest in FMF history thanks to adidas adizero engineering, which combines different technologies to offer the lightest football kit, allowing players to remain fast, cool and comfortable on the pitch.

adidas and A.C. Milan announce the extension of their partnership until 2023
adidas and A.C.Milan together until 2023. The new agreement to extend the partnership started in 1998 has been made official today: a very rare achievement in the football world.

adidas Release Limited Edition of World's Most Popular Football Boot
adidas is proud to unveil a limited edition version of their most famous football boot to date: the iconic Copa Mundial.
Released in 1982, the Copa Mundial is the best-selling boot in football history and has been worn by some of the all-time greats including Franz Beckenbauer, Michel Platini, Zico & Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. Since then it has been sold over 10 million times and was actually the last revolutionary product innovation created by sporting goods legend and founder of the adidas brand Adi Dassler.
